Analysis: OASys created for the refractive
physician wanting to provide the highest quality
of service to their patients. It provides clinical
data capture for surgical outcomes.
OASys may be integrated with
nVZN, our practice management software or function
as a stand alone. Our system mirrors the familiar
paper forms already used by many practices. The
Pre-Operative, Operative and Post-Operative Exams
may be captured and recorded with a simple point
and click procedure. Now, you can have quick access
to charts and graphs in real time. Data can then
be transmitted to our data warehousing center
where it can be included in our nationwide study.
Reports: OASys contains a Reports
function that allows you to generate a list of
productive results. Some examples of reports include
Nomograms, Visual Acuity Percentage and Treatment
vs. Achieve. Patients want to know the benefits
and risks involved with the surgery. By collecting
data from past surgeries and compiling it for
analysis, doctors can track the cumulative data
of refractive patients to have a better picture
of the overall performance based on various factors
such as pre-operative prescription, age, complications,
laser used, and the nomograms used to program
the procedure. This give both patient and doctor
an accurate measure for which to determine the
next procedure.
This data is not only valuable for research but
also helps to fine tune the practice to ensure
the best possible results. Refractive outcome
analysis is becoming an important factor in determining
a quality practice. In addition, ophthalmologists
may use the data to provide truthful, informative
advertising of refractive surgery. Surgeons who
